These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Waylight ("the App"), an iOS application developed by the Waylight team ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Waylight, you agree to these Terms.
Description of the app
Waylight uses your device's camera and an on-device machine learning model to describe your surroundings and provide spoken alerts based on prompts and scenes you configure. All processing happens locally on your device.
Waylight is a general-purpose visual aid. It is not a certified medical device, safety device, or emergency system.
Not a safety or medical device
Waylight's built-in and custom scenes — including Baby care and Safety scenes such as smoke/fire detection, fall detection, or stove monitoring — are provided as a convenience tool only. They rely on an on-device AI model that can produce incorrect, delayed, or missed results. Waylight must not be used as:
- A substitute for a certified smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, or fire alarm.
- A substitute for a baby monitor, medical monitoring device, or direct human supervision.
- A sole means of detecting emergencies or life-threatening situations.
You are solely responsible for the safety and supervision of yourself, your household, children, and property. We disclaim all liability for outcomes related to reliance on Waylight's descriptions or alerts.
Accuracy of results
Waylight's descriptions, translations, and YES/NO alert judgments are generated by an on-device AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or fail to detect the condition you configured. Do not use Waylight in situations where an incorrect or missed result could result in harm without an appropriate independent safeguard.
Your responsibilities
- You must be legally permitted to use a camera to observe the scene, people, or location you point Waylight at, including complying with local laws on recording or observing others.
- You are responsible for the prompts and custom scenes you create and how you act on Waylight's output.
- You must not use Waylight to violate the privacy or rights of others.
No account, no warranty on availability
Waylight has no user accounts and stores configuration data locally on your device only. We provide the App "as is" without warranty of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including personal injury, property damage, or loss, arising from your use of or inability to use Waylight.
Changes to the app or terms
We may update Waylight's features and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Termination
You may stop using Waylight at any time by deleting the App from your device.
